Well, this year I didn't have time to paint on them (what was I thinking?) so I came up with the max amount of cuteness, for the least amount of work...
Vintage fabric tags!
• cut your cards and punch a hole (heavier note cards or card stock works best)
• pick out your fabrics and notions
• sew them on!
...see how easy that is?

Happy Holidays to all!

My sweet husband took Judah for the morning so I could take about a billion photos for a bunch of fun stuff I made last week. I had to stop and empty my memory card to keep going!
Now after a yummy dinner with friends, I'm wiped out, and smiling while I recap the day's events.
While sifting through the pics from today, I found this... look who wondered into the shot:
Isn't our Judah such a cutie?! He's a tiny little man in this photo.
Can't wait to post the new goods. Stay tuned!

While I was sifting through my new jar of memories, a group of mixed golds and textured black buttons stood out to me and became the inspiration for my latest necklace: The Medallion Necklace. I'm so thrilled to share these little gems with you all!

I just listed these sweet North Pole Earrings...complete with sparkling beads, vintage lace, and curious little polar bears (from my Nana's jewelry stash).
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This time in the Holiday Promo Gift Guides, as well as a little cameo on Etsy's front page last night...such a stud.
Congrats to Noelle of Xenotees...since it's really her shirt that got him there! ;)
P.S. we have at least one tiff a week over who can wear that shirt! It's soooooo comfy!

I was rummaging through my jewelry and came across this old locket with a prepubescent photo of me and my hubby. This picture was taken right before we "hooked up" (for lack of a better phrase) at the ripe ol' age of barely 16. I love this thing! But it was high time to add the third member of our unstoppable force. So Judah (and Winnie the Pooh's ear) got trimmed down, laminated, and tossed in to the mix.
In an effort to make it longer, and not purchase a new chain, I jumbled together three old sterling silver chains. Oh, and the marigold lace is just because I can't help myself.

This sweet little trinket is curiously wonderful. When I saw it on the shelf at one of my favorite vintage shops, I knew immediately that it wanted to be on a necklace...preferably a long one.
Bonus: you can always stuff your grocery list in there if you're out of pockets.

A BIT ABOUT iSTUDIO: (TAKEN FROM THEIR SITE)
iStudio was born from the idea that, "where the artist works is sometimes just as interesting as the work itself." After seeing several workshops/studios we quickly came to the conclusion that this was also an art form; more of an anthropological art form.
Coming up with one photo was a toughie, but this one pretty much sums it up:

In addition to being my favorite of all the bags, this was also a test run for a birthday gift.
(HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNY!)
Jenny's bag had a little cursive "J" patch on it, and a way better loop-handle-thingy. See the embellishment on my handle? You might be thinking, "Oh that Corrie, she's just so creative, adding that little star and lace there." Or maybe it's more like, "Ew, that Corrie, she's always adding stuff like that star and lace and never knows when to leave well enough alone."
Well, that little addition is actually a cover job for some violent thread snipping that went awry. I was so annoyed turning that dang handle inside out that when I went to (frustratingly) cut the loose threads, I snipped right through the fabric, leaving a gaping hole. I wasn't about to spend another 20 minutes turning another handle inside out, so I patched it up right nice with some white cotton lace and a vintage star button.
I would say, "and no one will ever know!"
...but now you do.

of various kinds; severalThe Sundry Necklace is my favorite design as of late. It is so versatile (and comfortable!) and gives you that rad layered look without all the tangles.
Made from a mix of (mostly vintage) metal chains, these have been grouped together and secured to a soft turquoise woven ribbon tie.
You can seriously wear this with ANYTHING. ;)

Out of all five bags, this one was definitely the easiest. I used a good ol' brown paper lunch sack as a pattern. It's not lined, it's not fancy, it's not original... just functional, reusable, and washable. And wouldn't you know, I've had more requests for this one than any other!

This is my miscellaneous bag. It holds my hand sanitizer, lotion, and other lady products. It even has a little interior pocket for back-up lip gloss, should the other four get lost. The heart button and lace trim are both vintage, and all of these fabrics were leftovers from other projects.
This was actually the first bag in the series of five. I loosely followed this tutorial on lined zipper pouches and learned (the hard way) not to let your fabric be shorter than the length of the zipper.

Three down, two to go!

This is a simple fold over clutch with button and elastic closure. There are two different vintage heart buttons at top and bottom so it can be closed no matter how many diapers you stuff in there.
This will probably become some sort of bathroom/toiletries bag whenever Mr. Judah decides he's ready to say goodbye to diapers. God speed to us.

Finally, FINALLY, I did it. Ta Da!
Bag No. 1: Mama Bag
This may look like your average over-the-shoulder bag, but I had picky list of requirements for this thing.
1. I want it "sling pack" style, able to carry it across the chest, but didn't want it to hang any lower than the small of my back.
2. The strap needs to be W I D E in order to distribute the weight evenly over my shoulder bones, which are currently recovering from the diaper bag's mean ol' skinny strap.
3. The inside pockets must neatly accommodate my necessities: Burt's Bees, lip gloss, note pad, pen and phone.
4. It has to look awesome, in a not-trying-too-hard-to-look-awesome sort of way. Not too much to ask of a bag, eh?
5. It must must must be washable. I promise I'll wash this one...well, I'll try.
*The fabric is a heavy canvas I picked up from IKEA in ATL this summer, lined with a salmony-coral solid from my local fabric store.
Well, Mama Bag has been designed, sewn, photographed and blogged...Baby Bags to follow.

This little lady falls into the "can I turn this into a necklace?" catagory. I found the vintage cork-backed coaster at my favorite downtown trading post and knew immediately that her drink-holding days were over. It also falls into the "love it or hate it" category (just created). Feedback has been wide ranging...from features to crotchety complaints from certain male friends (who shall remain name-curt!-less). ☺
To each her own, eh?

Well, I finally made something of my very own. These silver flower ball beads are from a necklace she bought on a reservation in Arizona (while visiting our family years ago).
And that's my cutie little No. 7 jar from Anthropologie that I bought on my birthday...there's a No. 2 around here somewhere.
Thank you Nana!

My sweet husband - who I recently accused of never reading my blog - was perusing my latest posts and ordered the Giant Fork shirt for me from Xenotees!
Well, the sweetness doesn't stop there... Noelle (of Xenotees) sent a little green kids shirt for Judah too! She said to model them and she would send some link love my way.
So here we are in our super fun shirts!
This little guy was thrown together one afternoon during nap time with felt, stuffing and the leftover pinstriped linen from Judah's bed skirt.
Judah affectionately named it "John Jay" and added it to his stash. John Jay has replaced my socks, which are now stuffed in the driver's seat of the dump truck.
Again...what a crazy little kid. ☺

This started a few weeks ago and has grown into quite an odd little collection.
Since Judah liked to nap with one of his cars, I would hide his favorite (of the moment) under his pillow for him to find. Then we started putting his passie there, since it’s only in use during nap time. After that, he added a laminated picture (from previous “photo booth fun” post). All this seemed quite normal and endearing. Until…
Yesterday, he asked if he could nap with a pair of my socks.
